J&K Pensioners protest in support of their demands

Jammu Tawi, December 22
To protest against the anti working class policies of the state government, the state pensioners today held a protest demonstration under the leadership of Mukand Lal Sharma and Madan Lal Abroal, General Secretary.
Speaking on the occasion Madan Lal Abrol has strongly criticized the government of its indifferent attitude towards the senior citizens and said that most of the burning demands of the pensioners have not been addressed to despite several representations and protests. He said while the government has enhanced the medical allowance in favour of legislators but regretted that this demand of the pensioners has not been met so far. The 3rd installment of 6th pay commissioners too have not been disbursed to the pensioners despite lapse of considerable period of time. He demanded release of 6% D.A, arrears from January 2009 to June 2009 be paid at an earliest.
The Association also demanded that 50% D.A be merged with the basic pension besides announcing release of 10 per cent DA from July last.
Those who spoke on the occasion were Pavtar Singh Ex-Session Judge, Subash Rekhi, Mukand Lal Sharma Raj Kumar Banathia , Dev Raj Gupta ,Mohd Shafi, Moti Lal Koul , S.Harbans Singh, Yash Pal Senson, Subash Suri, Pavitar Singh, Omkar Nath Sharma, S.D.Verma and Om Parkash Sharma.
